Cooking Classes

We offer hands-on cooking classes taught by Colomba Aguilar, chef/owner of Cafe Carambola. Class sizes are limited so you’re sure to receive one-on-one instruction in a friendly environment where all of your questions are sure to be addressed. All hands-on classes are $65.00 and include all ingredients; payment is required at time of registration. Below are the classes that are currently scheduled.

“TAMALES”
Saturday, March 11th – 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Thursday, March 16th – 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Oaxaca (Wa-Ha-Ca) is one of Mexico’s southernmost states and is home to one of the most complex cuisines on our planet. Oaxaca’s gastronomy is a whimsical world of chocolate, chiles, of corn and squash. Tonight, Chef Colomba will teach the art of creating a modern yet authentic Oaxacan menu full of vibrant colors and rich layered flavors.

“SPRING CLEANING”
Tuesday, April 4th – 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
It’s time to clean up our eating act! Latin American cuisine lends itself perfectly to a fresh and healthy way of cooking and eating. Today’s class will focus on salads and bowls. We’ll use ancient grains and plenty of other nutrient-packed ingredients to create dishes that will blow your mind!
